Guangzhou based, but he/she will have short term assignment working at our China Project (at Kunming for 6-12 months).
Assist in implementing health and safety (H&S) policies and procedures defined by the operational project in South China Region, which covers a number of highly automated plants and facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements H&S measures to ensure accidents are minimized; monitor and follow-up their application.
Liaise with VWSC on health and safety issues, and prepare reports for submission.
Assists in conducting risk assessments and considers how risks can be reduced.
Assists in the preparation of H&S strategies and in the development of internal policies.
- Participates in the outlining of safe operational procures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
Provides advices to operational projects to improve the H&S situation in each project.
Assist in the production of newsletter or other communication tool.
Communicates with staff to raise their overall awareness in H & S.
Investigate office/plant accidents, gather information and data; assist in preparing accident reports.
Take part in H&S and first-aid trainings; communicate good practices to employees.
Perform regular inspections of facilities, safety equipment, to identify and correct potential hazards; report to management level.
Maintain all H&S information and data up-to-date.
Conduct trainings with managers and employees about health and safety issues, if necessary.

Degree holder in Health & Safety studies or related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in H & S.
Knowledgeable in international H & S
standards and relevant legal requirements in China.
Practical experience in H&S will be an asset.
Good command of both spoken & written English or French and Chinese.
Computer literate, proficiency in MS office.
Good interpersonal and communication skills and willing to learn.
